Sandoval Jesus
FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Sandoval “Sandy” Jesus, 74, of St. Michaels, Arizona, will be held today, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Mission in Fort Defiance, with Rev. Leon Sampson officiating. Viewing will take place one hour prior to service at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at the Fort Defiance Veterans Cemetery.
Sandoval was born March 21, 1949, in Fort Defiance, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Tó’áhaní (Near the Water Clan). He passed away Dec. 24, 2023, in Fort Defiance.
Sandoval retired as a coalminer with McKinley Mine. He enjoyed golfing, running, basketball, ranching, biking, drawing, carpentry, cooking, singing, and hiking.
Sandoval is survived by his wife, Florence I. Jesus; sons, Floyd Jesus and Franco Jesus; daughter, Sandra Dalgai; brothers, Mencia Jesus Sr., Raymond Jesus Sr., Arviso Jesus, Garcia Jesus, and Martinez Jesus; sisters, Emma Silentman and Della Jesus; and 12 grandchildren.
Sandoval is preceded in death by his parents, Daisy and Ramon Jesus; sisters, Laverne Wallace and Ramona Jesus; and brothers, Juan Jesus Sr., Francisco Jesus Sr. and Cisco Jesus.
Pallbearers will be Franco Jesus, Tyree Dalgai, Clay Morin, Kellen Jesus, Eric Jesus, Lucas Jesus, Adriano Jesus, and Stanley Overturf.
Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Dalgai and Dayshon Dalgai.
A reception will take place at the Fort Defiance Chapter House following services.
Rollie Mortuary oversaw arrangements.
Douglas E. Todacheeney
RIO RANCHO, N.M. — Funeral services for Douglas Edward Todacheeney, 53, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, were held Dec. 26 at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Sara Chapel in Rio Rancho, with Pastor Bill Atwell officiating. Interment followed at the Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho.
Douglas was born Oct. 9, 1970, in Farmington, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Bit’ahnii (Under His Cover Clan). He passed away Dec. 12, 2023, in Albuquerque.
Douglas graduated from Farmington High School in 1989 and attended San Juan College. He enjoyed golfing, working out, cooking, going to concerts, and was a fan of the Denver Broncos and Oklahoma Sooners.
Douglas is survived by his father, Thomas Todacheeney; sisters, Johanna Todacheeney (Don Martin) and Michele Todacheeney; niece, Ariane (Chuck) Marshall; great niece, Eliandra Marshall; and great-nephew, Evan Marshall.
Douglas is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Todacheeney; and brother, Thomas Todacheeney Jr.
Pallbearers were Chuck Marshall, Bobby Convery, Virgil Todacheeney, Ken Stanford, McLane Begaye, and Russell Lewis.
Honorary pallbearer was Lionel Yazzie.
Daniels Family Funeral Services-Southern Chapel oversaw arrangements.
