Phillip R. Harrison
GALLUP – Funeral services for Phillip Ray Harrison, 79, of Gallup, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m., at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Burial will follow in Gallup.

Phillip Ray Harrison, May 10, 1946 – Feb. 5, 2026
Phillip was born May 10, 1946, in Gallup, into the Hashk’ąą Hadzohó (Yucca Fruit-Strung-Out-In-A-Line Clan), born for Naakaii dine’é (Mexican Clan). He passed away Feb. 5, 2026, in Gallup.
Phillip enjoyed fishing, coloring, reading the Bible and Word Search.
Phillip is survived by his brothers, Leroy Harrison and Everisto Harrison Sr.; and sisters, Leverne Harrison, Clorinda Harrison and Cynthia Harrison Chavez.
Phillip is preceded in death by his mother, Susie Harrison, and father, Franklin Harrison Sr.; and brothers, Franklin Harrison Jr., Irvin Harrison and Douglas Harrison.
Pallbearers will be Franklin Harrison III, Raymond Puente, Eric Groten, Seth Harrison, Franklin Harrison IV and Jacob Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Harrison, Everisto Harrison and Don Chavez.
Rollie Mortuary oversaw arrangements.
Ryan L. Wilson
TSE BONITO, N.M. – Funeral services for Ryan Lee Wilson, 45, of St. Michaels, Arizona, will be held Friday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ in Tse Bonito, New Mexico, with Pastor Michael Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gallup.

Ryan Lee Wilson, Dec. 9, 1980 – Feb. 3, 2026
Ryan was born Dec. 9, 1980, in Fort Defiance, into the Dibéłzhíní (Black Sheep Clan), born for Naakaii dine’é (Mexican Clan). His nálí is Naakaii dine’é; cheii is Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water). He passed away Feb. 3, 2026, in Window Rock.
Ryan graduated from Gallup High School in 1999 and served in the U.S. Army at Camp Doha in Kuwait. After returning home, he continued his education at the Le Cordon Bleu and Universal Technical Institute building a foundation for his career.
Ryan spent much of his career working independently. He loved cooking for others, traveling to new states, and riding his motorcycle. He was always chasing good food, new scenery, and the freedom of the open road.
Ryan is survived by his daughters, Brooke Begay, Sanaya Wilson and Makoda Wilson; mother, Anne Calabrese; brother, Cameron Calabrese; and sisters, Kaila Rutherford and Kimberly Honda.
Ryan is preceded in death by his stepfather, Dennis Calabrese; and grandparents, Rose and Joe Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Roanhorse, Lance Wilson, Ezekiel Roy, Cameron Calabrese, David Marquez and Charles Lynch.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Wilson, Larson Wilson, Clyde Wilson, Ernest Wilson and Benjamin Rutherford.
A reception will take place at the Gallup Community Center following services.

Douglas M. Tsosie
NAVAJO, N.M. – Funeral services for Douglas MacArthur Tsosie, 83, of Gallup, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m., at the Navajo Baptist Church in Navajo, New Mexico, with Israel Tsosie officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Defiance.

Douglas MacArthur Tsosie, May 18, 1942 – Feb. 8, 2026
Douglas was born May 18, 1942, in Rehoboth, New Mexico. He passed away Feb. 8, 2026, in Gallup.
Douglas graduated from Window Rock High School and retired as a postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service in Tohatchi, New Mexico. He enjoyed playing the guitar, traveling and Bible study.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Katherine Tsosie; sons, Joel Tsosie and Israel Tsosie; parents, Wallace and Katherine Tsosie; brothers, Freddie Tsosie, Calvin Tsosie and Herbert Tsosie; and sisters, Angela Billie, Elizabeth Tsosie, Betty Hubbard and Gloria Gorman.
Douglas is preceded in death by Herbert Tsosie Sr.
Pallbearers will be Dallas Hubbard, Johnny Hubbard, Richard Pate and Davian Guevara.
A reception will take place at the St. Michaels Chapter House following services.

Janet Scott Nez
TEESTO, Ariz. – Funeral services for Janet Scott Nez of Seba Dalkai, Arizona, will be held Friday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m., at the Teesto Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Teesto. Burial will follow at the Desert View Cemetery in Winslow, Arizona.
Janet was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Teesto. She passed away Feb. 7, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas.
Janet is the daughter of John Scott of Seba Dalkai, and Ramona Clark Greyhair of Teesto. She is Dziłtł’ahnii (Mountain Cove Clan), born for Tł’ááshchí’í (Red Bottom People Clan). Her maternal heritage is Bit’ahnii (Under His Cover) and paternal is Hashk’ąą Hadzohó (Yucca Fruit-Strung-Out-In-A-Line).
Janet was the spiritual center of her family. She gave guidance fortified in prayer and unconditional love for all generations. She was a devoted wife for 54 years in her marriage to Peter F. Nez Sr. She was a mother of eight, a grandmother of 22, and a great-grandmother of seven.
Devoted to her faith, Janet’s love for Christ guided her life as she was a constant source of strength. Her belief was faithfully demonstrated in how she lived as she loved others.
Janet found great joy in worship and will be especially remembered for her beautiful singing, which touched hearts, brought comfort, and lifted the spirits of all who heard her.
Janet’s career was spent in education. She received her associate degree from Navajo Community College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona.
Janet was an elementary school teacher at Tsaile Elementary School, Greasewood Elementary School, Seba Dalkai Elementary School and Dilcon Elementary School. Her passion was for children as she believed in the power of learning, offering encouragement, and being grounded in patience.
Janet was a member of the Air is Life Coalition, an advocacy group that lead a 21-year strategic effort in promoting healthy living through a commercial tobacco-free environment in all public places on the Navajo Nation. Her contributions and ideas led to the organization’s achievements in the passage of two Navajo statutes.
Janet’s life was enriched by many dear friends through love, faith, and kindness. Her legacy lives on through her family, her faith, and the many lives she touched through teaching, worship and love.
Janet is survived by her children, Peter Nez Jr. (Paulina Nez), Dr. Patricia Nez Henderson (Dr. Jeffrey Henderson), Vernon Nez, Braden Nez (Leah Nez), Priscilla Nez, Erick Nez (Melody Biakeddy), and Chantal Nez Dominguez (Felipe Dominguez); and 22 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and adopted sons, Deswood Tome and Quincy Afraid.
Andréa “Andi” Begay
CHINLE – Funeral services for Andrea “Andi” Begay, 65, of Chinle, were held Jan. 26 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Chinle, with Father Floreeito Pabatao Jr. officiating.
Andrea was born Sept. 7, 1960, in Ganado, Arizona, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Dibéłzhíní (Black Sheep Clan). She died Jan. 17, 2026, in Phoenix.
Andrea had a certificate in accounting.
Andrea is survived by her husband, Daren Todd Begay; daughter, Shannon Carroll; mother, Lucille Begay; brothers, Marvin Wallace, Mike Wallace, Benjamin Yazzie, Victor Livingston, and Raulson Livingston; sisters, Lynne Yazzie-Guy, Adrienne Woody and Stephanie Kee; and five grandchildren.
Andrea is preceded in death by Colleeti Pioche, Johanna Kee, Charlie Yazzie, Abel Yazzie, Della McCabe, Rose Martinez, Shirley Garcia, John Wallace Jr., Annette Wallace and John Wallace.
Pallbearers were Marvin Wallace, Mike Wallace, Tim Carroll, Tyriq Pioche, Diondre Pioche and Benjamin Yazzie.
