John Kamps

GALLUP — Funeral services for John (Jack) Kamps, 88, of Rehoboth, New Mexico, will take place Saturday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m., at the Bethany CR Church in Gallup. Burial will follow in Washington State.

John (Jack) Kamps, 88

John (Jack) Kamps, April 25, 1936 – June 30, 2024

John was born April 25, 1936, in Rehoboth. He passed away June 30, 2024, in Albuquerque.

John graduated from Rehoboth Mission School in 1953, Calvin College in 1957 and Baylor Medical School in 1961. He then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1963.

John was a physician with Cibola Medical Group and Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital. He retired after 42 years of service in the Gallup area.

John enjoyed gardening, flying small planes, singing, skiing, and Red Rocks and McGaffey picnics.

John is survived by his wife, Kyse Kamps (Faber); children, Bryan Kamps, Craig Kamps, Kimberly Kamps, and Janelle Vestal; siblings, Gord Kamps and Phil Kamps; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by Roland Kamps, Lloyd Kamps and Ed Kamps.

Neptune Society oversaw arrangements.

Berlin Noble

GALLUP — Funeral services for Berlin Noble, 85, of Steamboat, Arizona, were held July 17 at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Interment followed at the Gallup City Cemetery.

Berlin was born July 20, 1938, in Steamboat, into the Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan), born for Mą’ii deeshgiizhinii (Coyote Pass Clan). He passed away July 12, 2024, in Gallup.

Berlin loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hauling water and hay for livestock.

Berlin is survived by his daughter, Darlene Noble; brothers, Bobby Noble, Glenn Noble and Alfred Noble; sister, Marilyn Noble; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Berlin is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Noble; son, Wilfred Noble Sr.; and parents, Bernard and Agnes Noble.

Rollie Mortuary oversaw arrangements.

Jamie M. Benally

SHIPROCK — Funeral services for Jamie M. Benally, 45, of Shiprock, will be held Friday, July 19, at 10 a.m., in Shiprock. Burial will follow at the Shiprock cemetery.

Jamie was born May 10, 1979, in Shiprock, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). Her maternal grandfather is Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water) and paternal grandfather is Hashtł’ishnii (Mud Clan). She passed away July 10, 2024, in Shiprock.

Jamie is survived by her parents, James and Angelita Benally; siblings, Sonja Begay, Angelina Holiday and Saige Benally; and grandmother, Faye Begay.

A reception will take place at the Shiprock Chapter House following services from 1-5 p.m.
