PREWITT, N.M. — Funeral services with full military honors for Donovan Jameson, 39, of Haystack, New Mexico, were held Oct. 28 at the Prewitt Assembly of God Church in Prewitt, New Mexico, with Sister Ruth Droll officiating. Interment followed at the family land in Haystack.

Donovan was born Feb. 21, 1978, in Gallup. He passed away Oct. 20, 2017, in Albuquerque. Donovan was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was currently serving with the New Mexico National Guard. Donovan is survived by his children, Donovan Jameson Jr. and Daniel Jameson, both of Continental Divide, New Mexico, and Ariel Jameson of Milan, New Mexico; parents, Don Jameson and Mary (Saunders) Jameson of Haystack; brothers, Dion Jameson of Albuquerque, Dijon Jameson of Haystack, and Dimitrix Jameson of Haystack; and sister, Maridonna Pizano of Haystack.

Donovan is preceded in death by his brother, Dominic Jameson. Pallbearers were Delbert Morgan, Neo Pizano, Jessie Desiderio, Timothy Barbone, Julius Billy and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Honorary pallbearers were Dion Jameson, Dijon Jameson, Dimitrix Jameson, Don Jameson, Pedro Pizano and Donovan Jameson Jr. Compassion Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

GALLUP — A rosary and mass for Sophie Lynne Lancer-Bradford, 46, of Gallup, was celebrated Oct. 28 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Church in Gallup, with Father John Cormack officiating. Interment followed at the family plot.

Sophie was born Oct. 13, 1970, in Gallup, into the Tódích’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). On the evening of Oct. 9, 2017, she lost her battle with Stage 4 breast cancer in Scottsdale, Arizona. She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family. It was a long fight, but a fight she was determined to win for her children.

Sophie attended school in Arizona, graduating from Central High School in Phoenix. She attended various universities and colleges, attaining a degree in accounting from New Mexico State University. Sophie worked at many various occupations and owned a bookkeeping business, but her primary role was being the mother to her three children. She loved her sons and daughter very much and worked those various jobs to provide for her children and provide modest enjoyments and happiness to her children.

She was a mother, a wife, an aunt, a cousin and a friend to many, who now endure the loss of her smile and sunny outlook on life.

Sophie is survived by her sons, Joshua Bradford and Jacob Bradford; daughter, Seanna Bradford; father, Raymond Lancer and spouse Phyllis; mother, Irene Lutz and spouse Rick; brothers, Shawn Lancer and Raymond (Jay) Lancer Jr. and fiancé Nadia; sisters, Phyllis Woolfolk and spouse Darrell, Cheryl Steffeck and spouse Gary, Anjelica Hollowhorn and Victoria Lancer; and grandchild, Xoey Bear. Sophie is also survived by many nieces and nephews, which she at some point babysat and cared for during their respective younger years. She leaves behind many friends and associates; most memorable is her lifelong friend from elementary school to present, Nikki. Sophie is preceded in death by her husband, Scott Bradford; brother-in-law, Mitt Hollowhorn; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Pallbearers were Shawn Lancer, Raymond Lancer Sr., Raymond Lancer Jr., Gary Steffeck, Joshua Bradford, Jacob Bradford and Darrell Woolfolk. Honorary pallbearer was Richard Lutz.

Cremation Center of Arizona was in charge of arrangements.

Terry G. Sanford Jr.

KIRTLAND, N.M. — Funeral services for Terry G. Sanford Jr., 38, of Shiprock/Naschitti, New Mexico, will be held Friday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Kirtland Stake Center (10 Road 6523, off Highway 264) in Kirtland, New Mexico, with Bishop Larry Hathaway officiating.

Burial and a reception will follow at the same location.

Terry was born June 6, 1979, in Shiprock. He died Oct. 29, 2017, in Albuquerque.

Terry is survived by his mother, Angie Sanford; brother, Corey Sanford of Shiprock; sister, Saprina (Steve) Crosthwait of Purcell, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Terry is preceded in death by his father, Terry G. Sanford Sr.; brother, Bill G. Sanford; grandmothers, Mary Keone and Alice Holland; and grandfathers, Truman Nabahe and Glen Sanford.
