Anna Tapaha
KLAGETOH, Ariz. – Funeral services for Anna Tapaha, 75, of Klagetoh, Arizona, will be held today, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m., at St. Anne’s Catholic Mission in Klagetoh, with Father Pio O’Connor officiating. Burial will follow at the Klagetoh community cemetery.

Anna Tapaha, Sept. 11, 1950 – Nov. 16, 2025
Anna was born Sept. 11, 1950, in Ganado, Arizona, into the Tsi’naajinii (Black Streak Wood People Clan), born for Tséńjíkiní (Honey Combed Rock People Clan). Her nálí is Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House); cheii is Bit’ahnii (Under His Cover). She passed away Nov. 16, 2025, in Ganado.
Anna attended Holbrook High School and received an accounting certificate from the College of Ganado. She was a homemaker, store clerk, prep cook and tax preparer.
Anna enjoyed sewing, traditional medicine and helped raise children. She was very loving and generous.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Janeen Tapaha; brother, Franklin Begay; sisters, Nora Mann, Marie Hubbard, Cecelia Lester and Marsadie Jones; and grandson, Joshua Jon Tapaha.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Chee Tapaha; children, Johnson Tapaha and Calleen Tapaha; parents, Harry and Alice Begay; and siblings, Dennis Begay, Nellie Yazzie, Mary Johnson and Anderson Begay.
A reception will take place at the Klagetoh Chapter House following services.

Alice D. Yazzie
GALLUP – Funeral services for Alice D. Yazzie, 91, of Gallup, will be held today, Nov. 20, at 9 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Gallup, with Wilson Calvin officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Alice was born June 23, 1934, in Shiprock, into the ‘Áshįįhí (Salt People Clan), born for Kinłichíi’nii (Red House People Clan). She passed away Nov. 12, 2025, in Gallup.
Alice attended secondary school at Sherman Institute and worked for NASA, Tobe Turpin as a silversmith, farmer and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, farming, planting and spending time with her family.
Alice is survived by her husband, Frank Yazzie Sr.; sons, James Yazzie, David Yazzie, Frank Yazzie Jr. and Michael Yazzie; daughters, Beverly Lewis, Maxine Arviso and Jeannie Nichols; stepbrother, Roy Dale; sister, Fannie Begay; and 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Alice is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Dale; father, Steven Dale; stepmother, Maude Dale; and Herman Dale, Kee Dale, Lloyd Dale, Herbert Dale, Ray Dale, Robert Dale, Howard Dale and Wilfred Dale.
Pallbearers will be James Yazzie, Isaiah Yazzie, Joshua Yazzie, Narbono Begay, Daryal Waynas and Gabriel Begay.
Honorary pallbearers will be Haani Nez, Levi Nez, Shedrick Nez and Frank Yazzie Jr.
A reception will take place at the First United Methodist Church following services.
