Jonah Laughing
WINDOW ROCK – Funeral services for Jonah Laughing, 78, of Crystal, New Mexico, will be held today, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m., at the Window Rock Christian Center with Jerry Tom officiating. Burial will follow at the family plot in Milkwater, Arizona.
Jonah was born June 22, 1947, in Fort Defiance. He passed away Nov. 20, 2025, in Crystal.
Jonah graduated from Intermountain Indian School in 1967 and attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He worked as a welder for Intermountain Indian School and Brigham City Corporation. He also worked for Navajo Forest Products Industries and Kerr-McGee Corporation, retiring from Crystal Boarding School.
Jonah was a rancher, Boy Scouts of America leader and cross-country coach. He enjoyed sports, hiking, camping, basketball, football, traveling, reading his Bible and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jonah is survived by his wife, Lorina Laughlin; son, Patrick Laughlin; daughters, Lorinda Goodman and Miranda Smith; brothers, Wilson Laughlin and Kee Y. Laughing; sisters, Minnie Laughlin and Lorraine Laughlin; and 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Jonah is preceded in death by his parents, Frances Wauneka Laughing and Sam Laughing; sisters, Ella M. Brown and Gertie Laughing; brothers, Johnny Laughing Sr., Bennie Laughing Sr., Dan Laughing, Thomas Laughlin, Edward Laughlin and Clarence Laughlin; and maternal grandparents, Joe and Nanbah Wauneka.
Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Laughlin, Tyler Bia, Tristan Bia, Sheroidrahsaan Goodman II, Ukiah Smith, Onieus McDaniel, and Nehemiah McDaniel.
A reception will take place at the Crystal Chapter House following services.

Linda L. Sherman
GALLUP – Funeral services for Linda Lou Sherman, 76, of Gallup, were held Nov. 25 at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup, with Renaldon Begay officiating.
Linda was born Feb. 13, 1949, in Bluewater, New Mexico, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Ute. Her nálí is Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People); cheii is Tsi’naajinii (Black Streak Wood People). She passed away Nov. 18, 2025, in Gallup.
Linda was a full-time caregiver for children and elderly. She enjoyed beading, crocheting, reading her Bible and spending time with her family.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Deana Niiha, Donna Halona, Sherry Sanchez, Sharon Chavez and Andrea Sherman; brother, Earl Sherman Jr.; sister, Delores Barney; and 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Yazzie Jr.; daughter, Shannon L. Elliott; parents, Adeline L. Sherman and Earl Sherman Sr.; brothers, Wallace, Roger and Joe; and sisters, Emma, Dorothy and Earleen.
Rollie Mortuary oversaw arrangements.
Louie Tully
COYOTE CANYON, N.M. – Graveside service for Louie Tully, 60, of Coyote Canyon, New Mexico, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m., at the family plot in Coyote Canyon.
Louie was born July 13, 1965, in Rehoboth, New Mexico, into the Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Tł’ógí (Hairy Ones/Weaver-Zia Clan). His cheii is Bit’ahnii (Under His Cover). He passed away Nov. 22, 2025, in Gallup.
Louie attended Tohatchi High School and was an artist who loved to draw.
Louie is survived by his father, Thomas Tully; and sister, Genevieve Tully.
Louie is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Tully; brothers, Herman and Wilfred; nephew, Nicholas; and grandparents, Frank and Marie H. Dennison.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Tully.
A reception will take place at the Coyote Canyon Chapter House following service.
