Dick Neztsosie
INSCRIPTION HOUSE, Ariz. — Funeral services for Dick Neztsosie were held Nov. 8 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Inscription House, Arizona, with Harry Marks officiating. He was laid to rest at the Rainbow City Community Cemetery in Navajo Mountain, Utah, next to his mother and brother.
Dick was born Nov. 11, 1947, in Navajo Mountain, Utah, to Redshirt Neztsosie and Clara Greyeyes. He passed away Nov. 2, 2024, at the San Juan Regional Medical Hospital in Farmington.
Dick graduated from South Sevier High School in Richfield, Utah, and often told stories of his earlier life, remembering when he was in high school. He was given the choice of either joining choir or seminary, he chose seminary. After serving a two-year mission for the LDS Church in the Northern Indian Mission, he had the privilege of baptizing many people, including some of his own children.
After his mission, Dick attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He went to work for the Navajo tribe as a purchasing director and for Utah Navajo Industries as director.
Dick’s last employment was with the Ute Tribe in Ignacio, Colorado, where he was a purchasing agent for three years until he retired due to health problems.
Dick held many church positions throughout his life, he was gifted with the ability to compose speeches for government personnel. He would speak with a soft tone and helped many people throughout his lifetime.
Dick enjoyed photography, gardening, hiking with his grandsons, and sharing stories of his life when he was a boy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Renea; children, Kristin, Shawn, Marcie, Kyle, and Ashley; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Thurstan L. Tunney, Matthew R. Neztsosie, Kyle W. Neztsosie, Ashley S. Neztsosie, Marcie L. Neztsosie, and Clint L. Applegate.
Honorary pallbearers were Rhiannon C. Tunney and Slohne B. Neztsosie.
The family would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to all of those who contributed money, donated time and food, and assisted with burial and flowers.
Anderson Scott
GALLUP – Funeral services for Anderson Scott, 41, of Gallup, were held Nov. 26 at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park.
Anderson was born Dec. 3, 1982, in Gallup, into the Haltsooí (Meadow People Clan), born for Tsenabahiłnii (Sleep Rock People Clan).
Anderson attended Red Rock Elementary School, Gallup Middle School and Gallup High School. He enjoyed playing golf, singing, cooking, and joking around with family and friends.
Anderson is survived by his parents, Roscoe and Lucy Scott; and sisters, Lisa Scott, Valerie Scott, Cassandra Sandy Scott, and Ashley Scott.
Anderson is preceded in death by his masani, Yitanibah Wilson; cheii, Joe Wilson; and nálí, Mary James.
Pallbearers were Darrel Watchman and Tommy Lee.
Rollie Mortuary oversaw arrangements.
James C. Yellowhorse
HARDROCK, Ariz. – Graveside service for James Carl Yellowhorse, 67, of Hardrock, Arizona, were held Nov. 26 at the family plot in Hardrock, with Lorenzo Yazzie officiating.
James was born March 28, 1957, in Shiprock, into the Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan), born for Hashk’ąą hadzohí (Yucca Fruit-Strung-Out-In-A-Line Clan). His nálí is Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge); cheii is Tł’ááshchí’í (Red Bottom People). He passed away Nov. 16, 2024, in Hardrock.
James worked as a diesel mechanic and mill operator. He was also a silversmith, sculptor, painter, and napper.
James is survived by his son, Hunter Yellowhorse; daughters, Paloma Yellowhorse, Malinche G. Yellowhorse, Tlazoli G. Yellowhorse, and Trinity A.W.B. Knight; father, Charles Yellowhorse; brothers, Ronald Yellowhorse, Dwane Frohlich, William Frohlich, August Frohlich Jr., Micheal Frohlich, and Raymond Frohlich; sisters, Angeleta Dougi, Karen Yellowhorse and Daurice Frohlich; and grandparents, Mary and Harry Yazzie, and Nellie and Sam Yellowhorse.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Frohlich.
Pallbearers were Brandon Johnson, Hunter Yellowhorse, Ron Yellowhorse, Shawn Robinson, Phillip Robinson, and Jerry Augustine.

Duane E. Keyannie
GANADO, Ariz. — Funeral services for Duane Edison Keyannie, 49, of Cornfields, Arizona, will be held Friday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m., at the Ganado Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at the Deer Point Family Plot in Cornfields.
Duane was born July 17, 1975, in Ganado, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Tsénjíkiní (Honey Combed Rock People Clan). He passed away Nov. 18, 2024, in Ganado.
Duane attended Ganado Unified School District.
Duane is survived by his sister, Janice James of Mesa, Arizona.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Keyannie; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Katherine Thompson; and paternal grandparents, James and Mary Keyannie.
A reception will take place at the Cornfields Chapter House following services.
