Martin R. Hudson
GALLUP – Funeral services for Martin Raymond “Hotdogs” Hudson, of Gallup, will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m., at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Martin Raymond “Hotdogs” Hudson, Oct. 14, 1947 – Nov. 3, 2025
Viewing will take place Friday, Nov. 7, at Rollie Mortuary at 3:30 p.m.
Martin was born Oct. 14, 1947, in Albuquerque, into the Naaneesht’ézhí Táchii’nii (Charcoal Streaked Division of the Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Tó Baazhní’ázhí (Two Who Came to the Water Clan). He passed away Nov. 3, 2025, in Gallup.
Martin attended Ganado Mission and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the State of New Mexico Department of Transportation after 34 years.
Martin enjoyed rescuing stray cats, socializing at the pub, taking his family out to dinner and watching sports, especially Steelers football.
Martin is survived by his sons, Judge Hudson and Melvin Escamilla; daughters, Martina R. Hudson, Kim S. Denny, Shanna Keeswood and Claudia Platero-Luz; parents, Martin Hudson and Rose A. Capitan-Hudson; brothers, Gordon Hudson and Ronald Hudson; sister, Kathleen Sherman; grandparents, Joe and Nanałnibah Capitan Sr.; and 28 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Martin is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian F. Tsosie-Hudson; daughter, Rosanne Hudson; and Josiah Henry.
Pallbearers will be Jasper Henry, Joshua Henry, Jeremiah Henry, Lavon Thomas, Karissa Bedonie, Mychal Denny, Sheldon Keeswood and Christopher Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Hudson, Melvin Escamilla, Gordon Hudson, Edward Henry Jr., Donovan Henry and Josiah Henry.

Cecil Haskie
INDIAN WELLS, Ariz. – Funeral services for Cecil Haskie, 76, of Indian Wells, Arizona, will be held Friday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m., at the Broken Arrow Chapel in Indian Wells, with Pastor Leonard Halwood officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Wells.

Cecil Haskie, Oct. 14, 1949 – Oct. 24, 2025
Cecil was born Oct. 14, 1949, in Winslow, Arizona, into the Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Kinłitsonii (Yellow House People Clan). His nálí is Tótsohnii (Big Water); cheii is Mą’ii deeshgiizhinii (Coyote Pass-Jemez). He passed away Oct. 24, 2025, in Show Low, Arizona.
Cecil graduated from Holbrook High School in 1968 and attended an electrician trade school. He enjoyed preaching, studying the Bible, fishing, playing the guitar, singing, music and was a fan of the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals.
Cecil is survived by his son, Christopher Nez; daughters, Bernadette Cayer, Irin Nolazco, Shannon Thomas, Roxanne Haskie and Cecelia Light; parents, Jack and Grace Haskie; brothers, Larry Haskie and Hank Haskie; sisters, Rose Haskie and Mary Lynn Perrin; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cecil is preceded in death by his wife, Jodell Haskie; daughter, Kimberly Thomas; son, Anthony Wesley; brother, Alfred Haskie; and sister, Lorena Weidner.
Pallbearers will be Branon Begay, Nicholas Hadley, James Clark, Carl Cooke, Lee Begay Jr. and Bryant Etcitty.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bernadette Cayer, Irin Nolazco, Shannon Thomas, Christopher Nez, Roxanne Haskie and Cecilia Haskie.
A reception will take place at the Broken Arrow Chapel following services.

CRYSTAL, N.M. – Graveside service for Eddie Gene Little, 56, of Crystal, New Mexico, will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m., at the family plot in Crystal.

Eddie Gene Little, Dec. 28, 1968 – Oct. 30, 2025
Eddie was born Dec. 28, 1968, in Fort Defiance, into the Tsi’naajinii (Black Streak Wood People Clan), born for Haltsooí (Meadow People Clan). His nálí is Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge); cheii is Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water). He passed away Oct. 30, 2025, in Window Rock.
Eddie was a lifelong mechanic and heavy equipment mechanic.
Eddie is survived by his sons, Gabriel Keith Little and Kyle Jensen; mother, Nellie Little; sisters, Karen Little and Sandra Thacker; and three grandchildren.
Eddie is preceded in death by his daughter, Courtney Little; sons, Eric Chee, Jacob Little and Keith Little; sister, Lisa Willie; and brother, Donovan Little.

GALLUP – Funeral services for Michael R. Sam, 37, of Gallup, will be held Monday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m., in Gallup, with Pastor Scott Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial.

Michael was born July 9, 1988, in Gallup, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge Clan). His nálí is Dibéłzhíní (Black Sheep); cheii is Honágháahnii (One-walks-around). He passed away Oct. 29, 2025.
Michael attended Rehoboth Christian School, St. Michael School and Gallup High School. He worked at various places in Gallup, with his last employment in Phoenix.
Michael enjoyed golfing, gaming, fishing, bike riding, movies, and comics, especially superheroes.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Miya E. Sam; mother, Francine Smith; brother, Rijon M. Sam; and sisters, Josephine Barney, Reynalda Sam and Lavina Sam.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Emerson R. Sam; brother, Bryan Z. Sam; and grandparents, Chee and Mary Smith, and Joe and Juanita Sam.
Pallbearers will be Rijon Sam, Cardenio Brodie, Tony Sam, Ryan Sam, Antonio Torez, and Simmon Antonio.
Honorary pallbearers will be Derwin Antonio, Noah Sam and Nathaniel Sam.
A reception will take place at the Church Rock Chapter House following services.

GALLUP – Funeral services for Ethel Lee Sam, 66, of Houck, Arizona, will be held Friday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m., at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Burial will follow at the Houck community cemetery.

Ethel was born Oct. 28, 1959, in Gallup, into the Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan). Her nálí is Tódích’íi’nii. She passed away Nov. 2, 2025, in Sanders, Arizona.
Ethel enjoyed puzzles, walks, family time and watching Bonanza and Gunsmoke.
Ethel is survived by her daughters, Tiffany Begay, Lynette Yazzie and Terrilynn King; brothers, Leonard Sam and Junior Smith; sisters, Judy Sam, Julia Sam, Gertrude Smith and Germaine Shirley Cisco; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, Betty Smith and Charlie Sam.
Pallbearers will be Aureleo Begay, Eligle Begay, Lester Yazzie, Sheldon Russell, Jeffery Russell and Derek King.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Sam, Leonard Sam and Junior Smith.
