Jerry J. House
THOREAU, N.M. – Funeral services for Jerry J. House, 74, were held Oct. 14 at Thoreau Baptist Church in Thoreau, N.M. Interment followed in Smith Lake, N.M.
Jerry was born July 23, 1941, into the Dibélizhini (Black Sheep Clan), born for Tódich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan). His nali is Honágháahnii (One-walks-around); chei is Kiyaa’aanii (Towering House). He died Oct. 7, 2015.
Jerry graduated from Gallup High School and received a degree in civil engineering. He served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer and served as vice commander with Smith Lake Veterans Chapter.
Jerry is survived by his son, Carlisle House; daughter, Joecy Houston; sisters, Esther House, Lucy Thompson and Louise Thompson; and brother, Larry House.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby House; father, Stonehouse Kill; brothers, David House and Herbert Pinto; and sister, Mary Ann Henio.
Pallbearers were Carlisle House, Jason Thompson, Nolin Leupp, Ronnie Leupp, Bruce Houston, and Avery Thompson.
Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Cato G. Sells Jr.
HAYS, Mont. – Graveside service for Cato G. Sells Jr., 77, was held Oct. 13 at the Werk Family Cemetery in Hays, Mont.
Cato was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Shiprock. He passed away Oct. 9, 2015, in Billings, Mont.
Cato was well known by people. He enjoyed photography, art/sketching, woodwork, and making wooden furniture.
Cato is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. Werk-Sells; daughters, Donna M. Sells-Marek of Dickinson, S.D., and DeAnna Sells-Duckett of Billings; son, Shawn Sells of Denver; sisters, Patsy Billison of Window Rock, Liz Sells of Window Rock, Teresa Gorman of Ganado, Ariz., Cynthia Floor of Mineral, Va., and Arlene Floor of Denver; brother, Rudy Sells of Winslow, Ariz.; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Cato is preceded in death by his father, Cato G. Sells Sr.; mother, Mary E. Tso-Sells; and sister, Shirley Sells Teller.
