Obituaries for Oct. 29, 2015

Helen Castillo

GALLUP

Funeral services for Helen Castillo, 63, will be held today, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Rollie Mortuary Chapel in Gallup. Burial will follow at the Gallup City Cemetery.

Helen was born July 31, 1952, in Mentmore, N.M., into the TsiUnaajinii (Black Streak Wood People Clan), born for KiyaaUaanii (Towering House Clan). She died Oct. 24, 2015, in Gallup.

Helen is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Castillo; daughters, Bertha Damon, Roberta Duboise, Kathy Spencer, Dianne Duboise, and Thelma Scott; sons, Darrell J. Duboise and Christopher Castillo; brother, Goerge Tom; and sisters, Dorothy James, Jennie Blackgoat and Marcella James.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lucy Tom; sister, Susie James; and son, Ricky Castillo.

Pallbearers will be Lance Damon, Justin Hildreth, Lewis Hildreth III, Wacey Spencer, Skylier Nez, and Dylan Nez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Duboise, Zane Scott, Donovan Young, Lawrence Spencer Jr., and Shylon Begay.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Julian McClellan

HOBBS, N.M. – Funeral services for Julian “JuJu” McClellan, 31, will be held Monday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. at The Door Fellowship in Hobbs, N.M. Burial will follow at the Hobbs Cemetery.

Julian was born Sept. 27, 1984, in Tuba City, to mother Anna McClellan of Cameron, Ariz., and father Greg Morales of Hobbs.

Julian was born into the KiyaaUaanii (Towering House Clan), born for Naakai dineU (Mexican Clan). He went home to the Lord on Oct. 23, 2015, in Casa Grande, Ariz.

Julian is survived by his mother, Anna McClellan; wife, Raetina McClellan; sons, Jordan and Elijah McClellan; and siblings, Gloriana and Allen “Bill” McClellan.

Nora Jean Boyd

REHOBOTH, N.M. — Funeral services for Nora Jean Boyd, 77, will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. at the Rehoboth Christian Reform Church. Burial will follow at the Rehoboth cemetery.

Nora was born March 26, 1938, in Fort Defiance, into the TlUgi (Weaver-Zia Clan), born for Tsenabahilnii (Sleep Rock People Clan). Her nali is HashtlUishnii (Mud); chei is TchiiUnii (Red Running Into the Water People). She died Oct. 26, 2015, in Crownpoint.

Nora was a homemaker and was a member of the Christian Reform Church in Tohatchi, N.M. She loved children and devoted her retirement caring for her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Nora is survived by her husband, Charlie Boyd Sr.; sons, Charley Boyd Jr., Norman Boyd and Jerry Boyd; daughters, Charlene Morris, Velma Boyd, Norma Boyd, and Cora Boyd; brothers, Alford Damon, Herman Damon and Edison Damon; and sisters, Joyce Damon, Linda Manuelito, Sarah Lewis, Nellie Damon, Marie Sam, and Ethel Francisco.

Pallbearers will be Duane Morris, Michael Morris, Gregory Morris, and Leonard Owens.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Guy Yazzie Teller

DEL MUERTO, Ariz. –Funeral services for Guy Yazzie Teller, 83, of Del Muerto, Ariz., were held Oct. 23 in Chinle. Interment followed in Del Muerto.

Guy was born May 23, 1932. He passed away Oct. 18, 2015, in Phoenix.

Guy was a medicine man and was employed as a janitor with Chinle School District. He retired from the Park Service.

Guy is survived by his sons, Keith Teller, John Teller and George Teller; daughters, Rosie Thompson, Susie Cashen, Paula Johnson, Louise Iyua, and Larisa Garcia; brothers, Sam Billy, Ford Teller Begay, Kee C. Teller, Guy Tso, Eddie Teller, Willie Teller, and Kee B. Teller; sisters, Jessie Roanhorse and Zonnie Clark; and 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Guy is preceded in death by his wife, Mary S. Teller; and parents, Ford and Ahenabah Teller.

Pallbearers were Armando Garcia, Robert Begay, Sharoyd Begay, Ammon Teller, Ryan Draper, and Grant Draper.

Honorary pallbearers were John Teller, George Teller and Landon Teller.

Silver Creek Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
