Alvina K. Begay

ST. MICHAELS, Ariz. — Funeral services for Alvina Kimberly Begay, 53, of Steamboat, Arizona, were held Aug. 29 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in St. Michaels, Arizona, with her nephew, David Laughter, officiating. Interment followed in St. Michaels.

Alvina Kimberly Begay, Sept. 12, 1970 – Aug. 23, 2024

Alvina was born Sept. 12, 1970, in Fort Defiance, into the Tótsohnii (Big Water Clan), born for Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan). She passed away Aug. 23, 2024, in Klagetoh, Arizona.

Alvina graduated from Ganado High School in 1992 and attended Clearfield for nursing and Haskell. She worked at Kivel Manor, Starbucks, and Klagetoh store/gas station.

Alvina enjoyed beadwork, taking care of the elderly, cleaning, baking, crafts, weaving dreamcatchers, crafting dolls, and being a grandmother.

Alvina is survived by her daughter, Tristan Nicole Robbins; parents, Dorothy Watchman-Begay and Alfred Lee Begay Sr.; brothers, Griffin Virgil Begay and Allison Lee Begay; sisters, Gwynne Iris Grey and Alfreda DeNell Tabaha; maternal grandparents, Mary Ellan Watchman and Leonard Kee Watchman; paternal grandparents, Helen Curley-Begay and Herbert Begay Sr.; and eight grandchildren.

Alvina is preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Eugene Robbins; and brother, Alfred Lee Begay Jr.

Pallbearers were David Laughter, Kyle Watchman, Samuel Laughter, Cody Watchman, Brandon Nez, Delveccio Grey, Daniel Cervantes, and Fabian Tabaha.

Honorary pallbearers were Griffin Begay, Alfred Begay III, Allison Begay, Christopher Begay, Damon Begay, and Myron Begay.

Tannia Wilson

GALLUP — Funeral services for Tannia Wilson, 35, of Albuquerque, will be held Friday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m., at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup, with Dorothy Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at the family plot in Red Rock, New Mexico.

Tannia was born March 20, 1989, in Gallup, into the Dziłtł’ahnii (Mountain Cove Clan), born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). She passed away Aug. 26, 2024, in Albuquerque.

Tannia graduated from Wingate High School in 2007 and worked at Fairfield Inn and Suites, Sandia Casino, Octopus Car Wash, and Monument Valley Hotel. She enjoyed reading, drawing, going to the movies, family time, and playing kickball with her nieces, nephews and siblings.

Tannia is survived by her daughters, Aaliyah Austin and Autumn Austin; parents, Thomas and Sadie Wilson; brothers, Ronnie Wilson, Shaun Wilson, Shane Wilson, and Cody Wilson; sisters, Sonia Wilson and Tonia Wilson; and nálí, Alice Wilson.

Tannia is preceded in death by her nálí, Kee Wilson; grandparents, Charley and Sally Jack; and Curtis Wilson and Casey Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Wilson, Shane Wilson, Cody Wilson, Ronnie Wilson, Jason Duong, and Scott Skeets.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Frank and Byron Begay.

A reception will take place at the Gallup Lions Club Hall following services.

Pamela A. Thompson

GALLUP — Funeral services for Pamela A. Thompson, 78, of Pinedale, New Mexico, will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m., at the Gallup Church of Christ with Norman Chee officiating. Burial will follow in Pinedale.

Pamela was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Crownpoint, into the Naasht’ézhí dine’é (Zuni Clan), born for Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan). She passed away Sept. 2, 2024, in Pinedale.

Pamela graduated from Gallup High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Fort Lewis College and a master’s degree from Western New Mexico State University. She enjoyed livestock ranching and teaching students.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Johnny Thompson; son, Bryan Thompson; daughter, Michelle Brandser (Thompson); brother, Bobby Tso; sisters, Christine Tso, Janice Tso-Smith and Susie Tso; grandparents, Na Le bah and Joe Capitan; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pamela is preceded in death by her parents, Violet and Mike Tso; brother, Tommy Tso; and Johnson Tso and Henry Tso.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Kindness, BJ Brandser, Byron Tso, Nicholas England, Rope Antone, and Bruce Bennett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Thompson, Bobby Tso Sr., Brian Brandser, Everett Tso, and Eugene Tolth.

A reception will take place at the Pinedale Chapter House following services.
