Guy Adakai Yazzie
MONUMENT VALLEY, Ariz. – Graveside service for Guy Adakai Yazzie, 62, of Monument Valley, Ariz., was held June 2 in Monument Valley, with Peter Oliver officiating.
Guy was born Jan. 20, 1954, in Monument Valley, into the Tódich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Bit’ahnii (Folded Arms Clan). He died May 27, 2016, in Phoenix.
Guy received an Associate’s degree in welding at a trade school and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Guy is survived by his sons, Brian (Gail) Yazzie and Byron Yazzie; daughter, Jessica Yazzie; brothers, Teddy Yazzie and Danny Yazzie; sisters, Lilly Natani and Bella Martinez; and five grandchildren.
Guy is preceded in death by his wife, Marthann Yazzie; son, Bryson Yazzie; mother, Lula Yazzie; and father, Guy Adakai Yazzie Sr.
Pallbearers were Andrew George, Shonnie George, Devin George, Bahazhoonii George, Odie Peshlakai and Tyron Yazzie.
Silver Creek Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Desbah Attakai Yazzie
SANDERS, Ariz. – Funeral services for Desbah Attakai Yazzie, 90, of Teesto, Ariz., were held June 8 at the Nazarene Church in Sanders, Ariz. Interment followed in Sanders.
Desbah, who enjoyed weaving rugs, was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Teesto, into the Zuni Edgewater Clan, born for Tsé njikini (Honey Combed Rock People Clan). She died June 2, 2016, in Zuni, N.M.
Desbah is survived by her sons, Gilbert Yazzie, Henry Yazzie, Phillip Attakai Yazzie, Jerry Yazzie, Herbert Yazzie, Melvin Yazzie, Martin Yazzie and Clifford Yazzie; daughters, Mary Yazzie, Susie Yazzie, Barbara Jean Smith, Ella Yazzie, Loretta Skeet and Irene Nelson; brother, Jimmy Bob; sister, Barbara Otero and June Benally; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rudy Bob, Phillip Attakai Yazzie, Marvin Skeet, Ronald Yazzie, Clifton Yazzie and Sonny Skeet.
Silver Creek Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Victor Cayaditto
RINCON MARQUEZ, N.M. – Funeral services for Victor Cayaditto, 36, of Ojo Encino, N.M., were held June 4 at The Word of God Church in Rincon Marquez, with Steven Archibald officiating. Interment followed at the Rincon Marquez Cemetery.
Victor was born into the Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan), born for Zia Clan. He died May 25, 2016, in Albuquerque.
Victor was a carpenter, mechanic and artist.
Victor is survived by his son, Elijah Lopez; parents, Vernon and Minnie Cayaditto; brothers, Manfred, Issac, Vernon Jr., and Eric; sisters, Heather, Cora and Carlina; and grandparents, Juan and Mary Largo.
Victor is preceded in death by his grandparents, Juan and Mary Largo.
Pallbearers were Joshua Largo, Issac Cayaditto, Vernon Cayaditto Jr., Josh Platero, Aaron Rafael and Eric Cayaditto.
Honorary pallbearers were Vernon Cayaditto Sr., Tom Largo, Edward Largo, Roger Toledo, Earl Toledo, Nathan Largo, Tony Cayaditto and Oliver Rafael.
Daniels Family Funeral Services – Alameda Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
