Native DomiNation captures NABI crown

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.

Utilizing solid defense and a solid pitching rotation, Tuba City’s Native DomiNation nailed down the 17th annual Arizona D-backs Inter-Tribal Youth Baseball Double A Tournament Championship at the main stadium at Talking Stick complex in Scottsdale, Ariz., last Saturday.

Native DomiNation outlasted White Mountain Apaches, 9-5, for the tournament championship. The game was a rematch of a pool play contest that Native DomiNation won.

“The key to our success was our defense who supported our pitching,” said Native DomiNation head coach Henry Henderson. “We often take into account pitch counts with not only our pitchers but opposing pitchers as well. We have the expectations that our pitchers need to throw strikes and our defenses make adjustments.”
