The Lady Sand Devils lift the championship trophy after defeating Window Rock to win the 2026 AIA Girls Basketball 3A State Championship on Saturday at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. Teammates celebrate as they claim the state title on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Trailing by two, Window Rock freshman Naomi James drove into the paint and went up for a layup through contact. Officials called an offensive foul, her fifth, handing the ball back to Page and effectively sealing the Lady Sand Devils’ victory.
Both teams struggled to score in a defensive contest that stayed tight throughout. Page and Window Rock each shot under 27% from the field, and neither team was able to build much separation.
Senior Tayla Franklin and junior Trece Tsingine, the tournament MVP, led Page with 9 points apiece. No player reached double figures in the low-scoring matchup.
