WINDOW ROCK – On Saturday, the community of Tsayatoh, New Mexico, will have a rodeo event for a special cause—raising awareness and funds for cancer research and support.

Organized by the International Indian Finals Rodeo (IIFR) and the Triple B Association, this Cancer Awareness Fundraiser promises to be a day of rodeo fun and hope for those affected by cancer.

The event will be held at the Tsayatoh rodeo grounds, featuring a variety of activities, including Open and Junior Rough Stock rodeo events. With a $500 sponsorship goal for local businesses, the event aims to make a significant contribution toward cancer research through the support of the New Mexico Cancer Center in Gallup.

This event is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a powerful reminder of how tightly knit our community is, and our power to unite for a greater cause. The IIFR and Triple B Association have been supporting our communities for years, fostering opportunities for youth and businesses alike through their events. With cancer affecting so many families in the Navajo Nation and across the Southwest, the fundraiser offers a chance to make a real difference while enjoying a day of rodeo action and community spirit.

The collaboration with the NM Cancer Center is a crucial element of the event, offering vital resources and outreach to those who may need it. This fundraiser will not only collect much-needed funding but also serve as an example for others, showing the power of community and togetherness in the fight against cancer.

“Rodeo is about enjoying time with your family,” shared Daniel Billy, Triple B Rodeo President. “I encourage everyone to enjoy rodeo life and our western heritage.” In the fight against cancer, giving up is never an option- just like in rodeo, “you can’t give up. You never give up” stated Billy.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in the day’s activities, with events open to all. The fundraiser is not only an opportunity to enjoy thrilling rodeo performances but also a chance to show your support for cancer awareness and contribute to the well-being of your community.

Local businesses are also invited to sponsor the event, with a donation of $500 helping cover the costs of prizes and awards for participants. Sponsorship includes verbal and banner advertisements, giving businesses a chance to boost their visibility while supporting a meaningful cause.

Whether you are a rodeo fan, a cancer survivor, or someone who believes in the power of community, this event is an opportunity to take action. Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 28 and join the people of Tsayatoh for a day of celebration, awareness, and unity. Together, we can help bring hope and support to those who need it most.
