WINDOW ROCK
Justin Granger continues to make it easy.
After a successful month in June, the Tuba City, Ariz., bull rider continued his hot streak by placing fourth at the 2015 Wild Thing Championship BullRiding on Saturday night.
“I haven’t won this amount of money in a short amount time,” said Granger, who won both the Lions Club Rodeo and the Mega Bucks Bullriding. “I’m blessed.”
As for the Wild Thing, Granger said the annual event is one the biggest shows in the area and it’s something he looks forward to.
“It’s a great event to go to and this is the first year that I’ve pulled a check out of it,” he said in a phone interview with the Times calling on the road in California.
“That’s probably the biggest fireworks I’ve ever seen ever,” said Granger, who also enjoyed the wooly riding events and competitors.
On the opening night, Cling Halcomb finished with an 84-point ride and that score didn’t hold as the final performance had five other riders better that score, including Granger’s 87-point attempt on an Owen Washburn bull that paid him $2,835.
“He was supposed to turn around to the left, but he ended up taking two jumps coming to the right,” said Granger of his bull. “It worked out great.”
