An individual state championship pushed Flagstaff harrier Taylor Biggambler above the competition in determining this year’s runner of the year

By all accounts, the 2025 prep boys cross country season can be best described as exceptional. The talent among some of our area runners has been unparallel compared to previous seasons. Every week, they competed at a high level in hopes of getting under the 16-minute mark.

For much of the season, Navajo Prep’s Elijah England has run on his own. The junior has a knack for pulling away from the lead pack at the start of every race. On Saturday, he got out pretty quick as he cruised to another New Mexico 3A boys state crown.

Lightning struck a second time for Laguna Acoma harrier Tagoya Pedro. The LA senior capped his prep career with his second consecutive New Mexico Class A-2A state cross-country crown at Albuquerque Academy on Saturday morning.
