Rudy Gonzalez is a perfect 3-for-3. The Winslow junior earned his third state medal on Saturday during the Arizona Division IV state wrestling meet.

By the slimmest of margins, Bloomfield was edged out by Belen – 176 1/2 points to 176 in the final team standings during the New Mexico Class 1A-4A Boys State Wrestling Championships held Saturday night at the Rio Rancho Events Center in front of a lively capacity crowd.

Bloomfield clinched the Regional 1-4A boys wrestling championship holding off district rival, state powerhouse and defending state champ Aztec in a close finish.

The Page wrestling team got a huge boost in the team standings with six grapplers making the finals at the AIA Division IV, Section II wrestling meet.

Of the five finalists, the Monument Valley wrestling team got four sectional champions at Saturday’s Division IV, Section II meet.
