WINDOW ROCK – A mother and daughter from the Ganado area are taking Navajo weaving patterns from vertical looms into a new rug line set to debut March 6, 2026, at the Heard Museum in Phoenix.
Mary Henderson Begay and her daughter, Gloria Fain, are listed in project materials tied to a collaboration with American Dakota, a U.S.-based textile mill that produces machine-made rugs inspired by original handwoven designs.
The lineup includes “The Rising,” a collaboration credited to both artists, along with “Mountain Blessing” and “Scapes.” Project materials also list “Blue Ribbon” among the debut designs.
The rugs will be made with EnduraStran yarn, according to American Dakota.
