TÓ ŁIZHIN, N.M. – Miss Navajo Ranisha Begay, in collaboration with the Navajo Nation Library, recently orchestrated an “All Royalty Reading” event, underscoring the significance of literacy and storytelling.

The event took place at the Navajo Nation Library in Tségháhoodzání on Jan. 23. Begay invited area royalties who represented their families, schools, and communities. They shared their favorite books and narratives, emphasizing the pivotal role of literacy.

The primary objective of the event was to inspire others to embrace the joy of storytelling and the importance of reading. Despite initial reticence, the royalties bravely read in front of their peers and eventgoers. Their efforts were met with admiration and encouragement, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the participants.
