By Navajo Times

WINDOW ROCK – Talia Yazzie learned early how to use time most people take for granted. Growing up in far-flung parts of Diné Bikéyah, she spent hours a day on a school bus, turning the long ride into study time and tutoring time while the miles rolled by.

Now 19, Yazzie is at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, finishing pre-radiology coursework, living in campus housing for a second year while balancing work, volunteering and her role as president of the student government association.

She is Tábąąhá and born for Naakaii Dine’é. Her maternal grandfather is Tódích’íi’nii and her paternal grandfather is Naakaii Dine’é. She is the daughter of Latasha Yazzie and Brannon Peshlakai. She is from Tódineéshzhee’ and part of the Shą́ą́’tohí Chapter.
