New Mexico’s Indian Child Welfare Act ensures children can connect with their communities, like I did.

The Navajo Nation Naabik’íyáti Committee held work sessions on Dec. 1, 2, 16 and 17 on legislation (0257-21) that proposes an overall expenditure plan for Navajo Nation Fiscal Recovery Funds.

I don’t know why I wanted to try to live away from my homeland and family but I did. I guess I wanted to know what it was like to have my own apartment, to live in the city and to be away from home. I wanted to know if I could do it.

Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer wish all Navajo families, elders, and youth a safe and Merry Christmas, and encourage everyone to take precautions to reduce the spread of COVID-19 as they celebrate the holiday.
