Uranium mining stopped on the Navajo Nation in the 1980s but contaminated uranium waste from decades of mining continues to leak into groundwater supplies.

I thought of taking this opportunity to recognize and praise the work of two female delegates who I believe are performing an outstanding job on behalf of the Navajo Nation – Eugenia Charles-Newton and Amber Crotty. As always, my comments are short and to the point.

All these years I never really knew the man until just recently during the Wingate High School reunion. Back on campus he never dressed wearing his military greenies, just another teacher to me. Little did I know he was a Vietnam veteran (1967-70).

During this Veterans Day, I would like to express my gratitude to all veterans of this great nation, which we call home. It is because of our veterans of all members of the armed forces that we have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and do whatever we want in our country and homeland.
