After months of intense lockdowns and other pandemic-related interventions, the measures have had a considerable impact on COVID’s decline. While on the subject of public health, the discussion of free-roaming dog populations, both owned and stray, have a number of public health concerns, especially since the pet population continues to multiply without intervention.

I decided to write once again to address Navajo Nation Police buildings that’s been condemned and has been an eyesore for several decades and also offer some potential solutions for our elected tribal officials to give serious attention and take some corrective measures. It’s a matter of life-or-death situation.

In the opinion of the marijuana farmers in Northern Agency, they state they have not committed a crime. But to my opinion, the marijuana farmers, along with Dineh Benally, have committed a major drug crime that the United States has not seen on an Indian reservation.

Ask yourselves, why are we, the farmers, being threatened and punished? Why is the Shiprock Farm Board so “passionate” about taking away valid farm permits from certain farmers?

I was inspired to write this when I saw in the May 6 edition Jack Ahasteen’s editorial cartoon on Page A6, and Rima Krisst’s article, which begins on Page A8.
