Police Blotter: Man found dead, Farmington police request assistance

FARMINGTON

On Friday, Dec. 1, at approximately 7:49 p.m., Farmington police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Laguna Avenue in reference to a man lying in the road, according to a news release from the Farmington Police Department.

First responders arrived and found the man to be deceased. He has been identified as 49-year-old Calvert Benally of Farmington.

Witnesses informed police that Benally had been walking in the area with a man and woman. The two left before police arrived.

Farmington police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the two individuals who were walking with Benally.

Anyone with information may call the Detective Division at 505-599-1005. Anonymous tips may be submitted to San Juan County Crime Stoppers at 334-TIPS.
