Charlotte Foley Nez
FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Charlotte Foley Nez, 88, of Fort Defiance, will be held today, March 29, at 10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Fort Defiance, with Rev. Wayne Mell officiating. Burial will follow in Chinle.
Charlotte was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Chinle, into the Tl’ízí lání (Many Goats Clan), born for Irish. She died March 23, 2018, in Phoenix. Charlotte worked and retired as a nurse aide. She enjoyed cooking, playing the piano, puzzles, reading, writing, musicals, and was a Braves baseball fan.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Randy Nez; daughters, Elaine Logg and Valerie Spencer; sister, Mary Holtsoi; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Nez; parents, John and Mary Foley; brother, John Foley Jr.; and sisters, Florence Clah and Grace Towne.
Pallbearers will be Eric Long, Kevin Long, Joshua Nez, Charles Clah, Denny Spencer and Christopher Nez. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Nez, Nicholas Spencer, Chris Spencer, Don Spencer, Ronnie Thomas, Corey Nez and Parker Clah.
A reception will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chinle, following services. Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Joash Christian Kebos Jr.
CHINLE — Funeral services for Joash Christian Kebos Jr., 18, of Del Muerto, Arizona, will be held today, March 29, at 10 a.m. at the Potter’s House Church in Chinle, with Pastor Artie Aragon officiating. Burial will follow in Del Muerto.
Joash was born April 26, 1999, in Chinle, into the Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan), born for Marshallese Islander. He died March 24, 2018, in Del Muerto. Joash attended Del Muerto Head Start, kindergarten through 3rd grade in Tucson, and 3rd grade through 12th grade in Chinle, graduating from Chinle High School in 2017.
He was currently in his second semester at Navajo Technical University and worked at Pre-engineering & Associates and at the Chinle Chapter House as a summer job. Joash enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, hiking, playing video games, electronic repairs, reading, making people smile and laugh, and was always busy and fun loving.
Joash is survived by his parents, Regina Draper and Joash Kebos Sr.; stepfather, Delford Roanhorse; sister, Samantha Roanhorse; and grandparents, Nancy Draper, Elsie Cly and Tom Cly.
Joash is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Chee Draper; grandfather, Benny Draper; grandmother, Betty Mitchell; and grandfather, Larry Tso.
Pallbearers will be Lynell Tso, Lydell Tso, Joshua Bahe, Jeremiah Bahe, James Bahe and Ishiah Bahe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Reginald Clauschee, Ronald Clauschee, Delford Roanhorse, Tom Cly, Lyle Tso and John Bahe.
A reception will take place at the Del Muerto Worship Center following services.

Michelle Ann Martinez-Yazzie
GALLUP — Graveside service for Michelle Ann Martinez-Yazzie, 42, were held March 26 at the Gallup City Cemetery.
Michelle was born May 24, 1975, in Gallup, into the Apache People, born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). Her nali is Áshiihí (Salt People); chei is Tsenahabilnii (Sleep Rock People). She died March 16, 2018, in Gallup.
Michelle attended Wingate Elementary/High School and worked various places in Gallup. She enjoyed making centerpieces, decorating during parties and the holidays, and loved her parents, children and grandchildren.
Michelle is survived by Marlene Martinez, Kenneth Martinez Sr., Tiffany Martinez, Kendra Bitsilly, Rochelle Martinez, Kenneth Martinez Jr., Shawn Martinez and David Martinez; and children, Danielle Yazzie, Danchelle Yazzie, Nathaniel Yazzie, Daniella Yazzie, Nathania Yazzie and Erika Yoe. Michelle is preceded in death by Jason Martinez, Bessie Martinez, Don Martinez, Joe Apachito, Crystal Martinez and Isiaih Nyjah Hunter.
Pallbearers were Rudy Apachito, Randy Apachito, Thomas Apachito, Tom Apachito, Shawn Martinez and Nathaniel Yazzie.
Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Mary Enrike GALLUP — Funeral services for Mary Enrike, 74, were held March 24 at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial in Gallup. Mary was born Dec. 11, 1943, into the Tó’aheedlíinii (Water Flow Together Clan), born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). She died March 19, 2018, in Gallup. Mary is survived by her daughters, Vivian Enrike, Jennifer Cayatineto, Sandra Henio and Leona Enrike; and son, Larry Kenneth Jr. Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
