Shirley Manning
GALLUP — Funeral services for Shirley Manning, 84, of Gallup, will be held Friday, Nov. 15, at 10:30 a.m., at The Lighthouse Church in Gallup, with Pastor Carmen officiating. Burial will follow at the family plot at Green Meadows.
Shirley was born Aug. 4, 1940, in Gallup, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Haltsooí (Meadow People Clan). She passed away Nov. 6, 2024, in Gallup.
Shirley attended Intermountain Boarding School in Brigham, Utah, to the 9th grade. She was a homemaker who loved to sing, attend revivals, sew, and spend time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sandra Arizona, Sharon Sandman, Shirleen Martinez, Geraldine Manning, Ardene Johnson, and Adrienne Manning-Zuni; father, Frank Jones; grandparents, Hosteen Haataałi Begay and Yaanaabah Begay; and 30 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Manning; mother, Ruby Begay; son, Jasper Tony Smith; daughters, Lorinda Manning-Begay and Alleen Manning; brother, Reuben Begaye; and grandsons, Carlos Rascon and Brandon Tracy.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Cruz, Norman Cruz Jr., Anthony Yazzie, Jacob Yazzie, Elijah Johnson, and Samuel Tsosie.

Karen L. Largie
NASCHITTI, N.M. — Funeral services for Karen L. Largie, 69, of Naschitti, New Mexico, will be held Friday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m., at the Naschitti Christian Reformed Church in Naschitti, with Jerome Sandovol officiating. Burial will follow in Naschitti.
Karen was born Oct. 19, 1955, in Laramie, Wyoming, into the ‘Áshįįhí (Salt People Clan), born Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). Her nálí is Hashtł’ishnii (Mud); cheii is Tsenabahiłnii (Sleep Rock People). She passed away Nov. 11, 2024, in Albuquerque.
Karen earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed arts and crafts.
Karen is survived by her sons, LeAnder Largie and LeAaron Largie; daughters, Valencia Largie and Karalynn Largie; mother, Elizabeth Pine; brother, Keith Pine; sisters, Barbra Smith, Shron Pine, Brenda Yazzie, Earlene Pine, and Ethilena Pine; and six grandchildren.
Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Largie; father, Kee Pine; son-in-law, Blaine Eriacho; and brother, Floyd Pine.
Pallbearers will be LeAaron R. Largie, Barlow R. Smith, Raymond Smith Jr., Bryson R. Smith, Byron R. Smith, Marcus M. Bryant, Marvus M. Bryant, and Anthony Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be LeAnder Largie, Keith Pine, Zachary Mescal Largie, Xaylen L. Largie, Silas Silago, Larry Jackson Sr., Raymond Pine, Carlton Pine, and Jasper Pablo.
A reception will take place at the Naschitti Chapter House following services.

Norma M. Quintana
HOUCK, Ariz. — Funeral services for Norma Mae Quintana, 67, of Sanders, Arizona, were held Nov. 13 at the Houck Catholic Church with Father David Tate officiating. Interment followed at the Houck community cemetery.
Norma was born Sept. 2, 1957, in Fort Defiance, into the Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan), born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). She passed away Nov. 5, 2024, in Albuquerque.
Norma graduated from Valley High School in Sanders, Arizona, and was employed with Ashcraft Construction in Albuquerque.
Norma is survived by her sons, Matthew Quintana and Benson Quintana Jr.; daughters, Brittany Quintana and Ninovia Quintana; brothers, Larry Yellowhorse, Leonard Yellowhorse and Perry Yellowhorse; sisters, Bertha Chester and Shirley Yazzie; and five grandchildren.
Norma is preceded in death by her son, Bronson Quintana; and parents, Mary and Norman Yellowhorse.
Honorary pallbearer was Leonard Yellowhorse Sr.

Anthony C. Begay
TUBA CITY — Anthony C. Begay, 54, was born in Tuba City on Aug. 20, 1970. He passed away Nov. 9, 2024.
Anthony’s mother’s clan is T’ąą’nez’dzą̨nii and his father’s clan is T’sedeshgįzhní. Maternal grandfather is Dęęshchíni and paternal grandfather is Tłizíłani.
Anthony was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident on I-10 west of Phoenix, on Nov. 9, 2024. He was raised in the Coalmine Mesa-Howell Mesa area prior to the family relocating to Kerley Valley and Tuba City.
Anthony attended Tuba City Boarding School and Tuba City High School. He lived and worked in the Phoenix area working toward a CDL operator license. He worked in construction with his brothers and earned his heavy equipment operator certification.
Anthony is survived by his daughter, Angel C. Begay; spouse, Cecelia Billy-Begay of Tonalea-Red Lake, Arizona; siblings, Steven C. Begay of St. Michaels, Arizona, Thelma C. Begay of Magdalene, New Mexico, Josephine C. James of Flagstaff, Maxine C. Begay of Flagstaff, Harry C. Begay of Tuba City, Matthew C. Begay of Elk Grove, California, Martha C. Shaner of Winslow, Arizona, and Genevieve C. Saddler of Brookland, Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, five stepchildren, and nine step grandchildren.
Anthony’s parents, Joe C. Begay, a notable horse tamer, and Desba H. Begay, a seasoned rug weaver, both precede him in death, as well as his brother, Ned C. Begay.
The family carries on a proud tradition of college education, military service within all branches, and technical training. The family will dearly miss him.
Detailed arrangements are being made by the family to return his body to Mother Earth.

Delbert Tsosie
REDMOND, Ore. — Funeral services for Delbert Tsosie, 62, of Bend, Oregon, were held Nov. 8 at the Church of God Seventh Day in Redmond, with Ken Cardwell officiating.
Delbert was born June 12, 1962, in Fort Defiance, into the Naakai dine’é (Mexican Clan), born for Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge Clan). He passed away Oct. 23, 2024, in Redmond.
Delbert was employed as a private artist and enjoyed building models and playing the drums and guitar.
Delbert is survived by his brothers, Jasper, Benjamin, Ronald, Wilburn, and Willard; and sisters, LaVern, Nora, Dorothy, and Carol.
Delbert is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Rita Tsosie; brother, Timothy Tsosie; and grandparents, Yoe and Carrie Hatalie and Mike and Lydia Tsosie.
