Jane Yellowhorse Jones
HOUCK, Ariz. – Funeral services for Jane Yellowhorse Jones, of Paradise Valley, Ariz., will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. (DST) at the Catholic Church in Houck, Ariz., with Sister Josephine Goebel officiating. A potluck reception will follow at the home of John Yellowhorse in Lupton, Ariz.
Jane was born Aug. 19, 1941, in Rehoboth, N.M., the sixth child born to Arthur and Anna Beasley. She passed away peacefully Aug. 20 at the Life Care Center in Scottsdale, Ariz., following a long illness.
Jane, a member of the Navajo Nation, grew up in Lupton, and attended Sanders schools. She was a jewelry artisan and seller most of her life. She was a former jewelry and art buyer for the Heard Museum in Phoenix, and founding board member of the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum in Los Angeles. She was also a licensed contractor and she and her husband co-owned Yellowhorse Industries, a Navajo business created for the purposes of providing jobs and economic development to Navajo Nation, as well as First American Asphalt and Grading in Las Vegas, Fort Defiance, and Klagetoh trading posts on the Navajo Nation, and she founded Scottsdale Indian Market. She became an icon in the Indian jewelry business known for her contemporary and innovative jewelry designs.
Jane lived a very successful and prosperous life and will be missed by all who knew her. We will fondly remember the amazing lady that she was.
Jane is survived by her husband, Dennis Jones; Patrick Lingruen (Yellowhorse); grandsons, Gregory and Jonathan Lingruen; brothers, John and Frank Yellowhorse; sisters, Betty Yellowhorse, Artie Yellowhorse and Mary Ann Brooks; great-grandson Xavier; and several nieces and nephews.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Anna Beasley; brothers, Juan and “Shush” Yellowhorse; and sister, Gloria Jarnagin.
A celebration of her life for family and friends in the Valley will be announced.
Andy Thomas Jones
ROCK POINT, Ariz. — Funeral services for Andy Thomas Jones, 55, of Rock Point, Ariz., will be held today, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at the God Grace Fellowship Church in Rock Point. Burial will follow in Rock Point.
Andy was born Dec. 1, 1960, in Rock Point, into the Deeshchii’nii (Start of the Red Streak People Clan), born for Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan). He died Sept. 4, 2015, in Rock Point.
Andy attended Many Farms High School and was employed as a construction heavy equipment operator. He was a rancher, stock contractor and mechanic. He enjoyed rodeos, construction work, hanging out with friends, listening to music, working on his truck, and was a simple, compassionate person.
Andy is survived by his wife, Maggie Jones; sons, Andre Jones, Bryson Jones and Tyson Jones; daughter, Fawn Jones; brothers, Raymond, Herbert and Franklin Jones; sisters, Marie Jones, Marilyn Klah, Marie Yazzie, and Geraldine Jones; and six grandchildren.
Andy is preceded in death by Rita Jones; and his parents, Thomas and Elsie Jones.
Pallbearers will be Andre Jones, Bryson Jones, Tyson Jones, Raymond Jones, Franklin Jones, and Eugene Silversmith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wacey Jones, Herbert Jones, Dusty Yazzie, and Monty Lee.
A reception will take place at Rock Point Chapter House following services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Calvin Jumbo
GANADO, Ariz. — Funeral services for Calvin Jumbo, 43, of Woodsprings, Ariz., will be held today, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Latter Day Saints Church in Ganado, Ariz., with Richard Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Woodsprings.
Calvin was born Oct. 21, 1971, in Fort Defiance, into the Tódich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Tábaahá (Water’s Edge Clan). He died Sept. 4, 2015, in Woodsprings.
Calvin attended Ganado Unified Schools. He is survived by his stepsons, Wade and Rayford Tom; stepdaughters, Charmain, Candice and Celicia Tom; mother, Rose Jumbo; brothers, Delbert Jumbo and Ronald Jumbo; and sisters, Bertha Wilson, Lorenda Jumbo and Patricia Betonie.
Calvin is preceded in death by his father, Paul Jumbo; sister, Julie Jumbo; brothers, Herman Jumbo and Reynald Jumbo; and grandparents, Kee and Dade Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Delbert Jumbo, Lambert Watchman, Shawn Notah, and Marvin Gorman.
A reception will take place at Rose Jumbo’s residence in Woodsprings, following services.

Tsosie H. Brown Jr.
CHINLE — Funeral services for Tsosie H. Brown Jr., 63, of Chinle, will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Chinle. Burial will follow at the Chinle community cemetery.
Tsosie was born Aug. 3, 1952, in Rehoboth, N.M., into the Tsenabahilnii (Sleep Rock People Clan), born for Tódich’ii’nii (Bitter Water Clan). Tsosie died Sept. 7, 2015, in Albuquerque.
Tsosie graduated from Chinle High School in 1970 and attended two years of college in Salt Lake City. He was employed at the Chinle Community Center and enjoyed playing basketball and football.
Tsosie is survived by his sons, Tsosie Joseph Brown III of Albuquerque, and Jeffrey Bitsui of Flagstaff; daughters, Marita Rae Ortega, Vantrice Fuentes and Eby Diane Zisman, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Freddie Brown of Tsaile, Ariz., Bobbie Brown of Chinle, Norman Patrick Brown of Albuquerque, Edsel H. Brown of Albuquerque, and Nathaniel Brown of Many Farms; sisters, Lucille Claw of Chinle, Dinah Descheny of Chinle, and Verna Chee of Cottonwood, Ariz.; and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family members.
A reception will take place at the Chinle Community Center following services from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Danny Teller
CHINLE — Funeral services for Danny Teller, 62, of Many Farms, Ariz., were held Sept. 9 at the Chinle Catholic Church. Interment followed in Chinle.
Danny was born Aug. 16, 1953, in Ganado, Ariz. He died Sept. 2, 2015, in Many Farms.
Danny graduated from Chinle High School in 1972. He enjoyed spending time with his family, doing crossword puzzles and sports, especially rodeos.
Danny is survived by his sons, Stanton Teller of Chinle, and Donnie Teller of Many Farms; daughter, Leslie Teller of Tsaile, Ariz.; parents, Charlie Sr. and Gladys Teller; brothers, Askie Teller, Stanley Teller and Charlie Teller Jr.; and sisters, Marlene Thomas, Ilene Begay, Evelyn Begay, Selina Tsosie, Elaine Teller, and Darlene Teller.
