Begaye highlights work of first 100 days as prez

Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye and Vice President Jonathan Nez, who have now completed their first 100 days in office, have begun to settle into their new jobs.
And while there’s usually a learning curve in any new position, both said their years on the Navajo Nation Council has been a great help.
Begaye said as a delegate he sought to get as much information as possible about every piece of legislation that came before the council.
“There is no such thing as information overload,” he said, adding that he would tell people to “continue to feed him information,” the more the better.
He said he is dealing with being president the same way, seeking as much information as he can to make the best decision.
Former Navajo Nation Chairman and President Peterson Zah, who is now one of his advisers, has been a great help, he said, imparting his wisdom and giving him the focus he needs to tackle many of the big challenges that come before him.
