Things got a little hairy on Monday afternoon for the Chinle baseball team.

On Tuesday evening, the red-hot Aztec Tigers rolled into Gallup and delivered a statement win, blanking the Lady Bengals 18-0 in four innings to extend their win streak to 11 straight games, including a perfect 9-0 run through District 1-4A.

In one of their final games of the regular season, the Tohatchi Cougars needed eight innings to outlast the Wingate Bears, pulling out a 5-4 walk-off win Tuesday evening in a dramatic finish at Tohatchi High School.

In a pair of much-needed 2A North Region wins, the Piñon baseball team survived an early scare from Many Farms on Friday afternoon.

The Hózhó Academy baseball team may be young, both in program and roster, but they’re making big noise in the New Mexico Class 2A division.
