This was much-needed win for the Monument Valley Mustang softball team.

The Navajo Prep Lady Eagles kicked off District 1-3A play with a doubleheader against the Wingate Lady Bears on Thursday afternoon.

The Chinle baseball team ran its 3A North Region record to 6-0 on Monday afternoon.

On a frigid spring evening with wind chills near 30 degrees, the Gallup Lady Bengals (6-7, 1-0) opened their District 1-4A title defense with a narrow 10-9 victory over the Kirtland Central Lady Broncos (8-10, 0-1) on Thursday night.

The Page softball team were tested early, but the Lady Sand Devils put the hammer down during last Friday’s doubleheader win over the Window Rock Lady Scouts.
