Monument Valley boys advance to semis

At crunch time in the second half, the Lady Bears turned in a solid performance to post a 56-49 victory over the Lady Cardinals in an interstate battle at Window Rock High School’s Veterans’ Memorial Fieldhouse in Fort Defiance.

To a certain extent, Monday’s makeup game with Pinon served as a de facto trap game for the Window Rock boys’ basketball team.

With a new wrinkle added to their system, the Zuni Thunderbirds made easy work of Crownpoint on Tuesday night.

For all the gains they made during the early part of the season, the Gallup boys’ basketball team seemed to have taken a step back in their latest win against Class 4A Kirtland Central.
