Page Lady Sand Devil senior guard Ember Sloan stepped up big time in the fourth quarter of the tournament finale in the 3A North Tournament of Champions on Monday night.

A power outage that lasted for over one week on Dec. 8 has caused havoc for the Wingate girls’ basketball team.

It was a game that befitted a tournament championship.

Valley Lady Pirates head coach Julia Six said, heading into the championship game against Window Rock on the Lady Scouts’ home floor, that it would be a challenge.

The Farmington Scorpions didn’t walk away with the title from their own tournament, but instead with a newfound respect.
