A total of 80 high school teams are vying to hoist the boys championship trophy at the 2026 Native American Basketball Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The four-day tournament started with pool play on Wednesday morning and it will end with Saturday’s title game, which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Phoenix College. The girls championship game is slated for 1 p.m. in a field that has 64 teams.

Defending boys tournament champions Young Gunz has a target on their backs, but head coach Tawna Kee-Yazzie believes she has the personnel to win the ultra-competitive tournament again.

“We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there,” Kee-Yazzie said, while adding that her team has played in several Native American tournaments over the summer to prep for this year’s NABI tourney.
