The inaugural Navajo Nation Music Fest brought Diné blues and hip-hop artists together Wednesday night, Sept. 9, as a new addition to the 78th Annual Navajo Nation Fair.
Presented by the Navajo Nation Division of Transportation, the free concert featured the Levi Platero Band, Nataanii Means, Destroykasmin, Purpose and DJ T-Rawk near the Dean C. Jackson Memorial Arena.
The lineup paired Platero’s blues-rock sound with hip-hop performances from Means, Destroykasmin and Purpose, followed by DJ T-Rawk. The concert ran from 7:30-9:30 p.m. as fair activities continued through the week.
The Music Fest marked the first time the event was included in the Navajo Nation Fair schedule.
