While growing up in South Dakota, Lucas Brown Eyes, Oglala Lakota, would offhandedly talk about wanting to become a writer for television.

“Mud” (Hashtl’ishnii), a short film written and directed by Shaandiin Tome, on Dec. 4 was chosen for the Indie Episodic, Shorts and Special Events for the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.

Shawn Nelson is on a crusade to remind people how important climate is to their lives. And he’s doing it like he usually does – in a series of sand paintings dealing with climate issues.

“Amásání” (The Grandmother), the short film written, directed, edited and produced by University of Arizona BFA 2017 Film & Television graduate Stacy Howard, has been selected to screen at the 2017 ImagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival.
