Rosanna Jumbo-Fitch selected for NAU Distinguished Citizen of the Year award

Rosanna Jumbo-Fitch, the former Chinle Chapter president, has been selected to receive Northern Arizona University’s 2026 Dr. Cliff Harkins Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award. NAU lists Jumbo-Fitch among its 2026 alumni award recipients.
Jumbo-Fitch is Yoo’ó Dine’é and born for Mą’ii Deeshgiizhnii. Her maternal grandfather is Tábąąhá and her paternal grandfather is Táchii’nii. She served as the Chinle Chapter president from 2020 through 2024.
The NAU Alumni Association award recognizes alumni for distinguished service to nonprofit organizations, government agencies or other public service.
Jumbo-Fitch is a three-time NAU graduate, earning degrees in 2009, 2011 and 2018. She earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management, a master’s degree in project management and a doctorate in education in curriculum and instruction. Her doctoral dissertation examined the integration of Diné culture and language into construction management curriculum.
