Elder assistance
Editor,
I would like to request from Window Rock Navajo Nation Elder Hardship Assistance Program in assisting Navajo elders with limited transportation and who need help applying for these critical one-time benefits at the local chapter houses in the state of New Mexico.
There is a total of 50 Navajo chapter houses, located in Shiprock Northern Agency and Crownpoint Eastern Navajo Agency with three remote chapter houses in Alamo, Ramah and To’hajiilee, New Mexico.
According to the Navajo Nation Elder Hardship Assistance Program, Churchrock Chapter House is scheduled for intake on Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Crownpoint held an onsite intake at their chapter house on Oct. 9 and at Huerfano Chapter on Nov. 4.
We would like our New Mexico Navajo leaders to take an active role in coordinating this special event for their constituency at their respective chapter houses.
Extend deadline to Nov. 20, 2026, due to unexpected weather conditions across the Navajo Nation.
