Three new office buildings, a new hotel and a convention center will soon be built in the Navajo capital, according to officials for the Navajo Nation Hospitality Enterprise.

The leaders of the three branches of the Navajo Nation government rolled out the red carpet for New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and her staff on Monday with an effort that highlighted the importance of positive state-tribal relations.

Still stunned over the closure of the Navajo Generating Station, the Navajo Nation could soon be reeling over the closure of another power plant across the state line.

The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise is continuing to diversify its holdings, announcing this week  the purchase of a restaurant north of Flagstaff.

As expected, Fire Rock Navajo Casino drew heavy crowds Tuesday as it celebrated its 11th anniversary as the first casino started by the Navajo Nation.
