I am a proud member of the largest land retained by the Native American tribe in the United States with a valid census number. I am writing to you in order to raise the issue of the Fiscal Recovery Fund, as well as the American Rescue Plan Act.

This letter is in response to the letter to the editor written by Leon Spencer, Burnham Chapter president (“Setting the record straight,” Sept. 16, 2021).

The ineffective governance in Burnham Chapter has not changed since the most recent election and, in some ways, it has gotten worse than before.

At a time when Navajo people need a strong president to unite the executive and legislative branches, our president, vice president, and speaker don’t seem to care.

With the major coal-fired power plant and coal mine in Arizona now closed, our state has the opportunity to embrace clean, renewable energy.
