According to witnesses, a school board member and chapter official in Sanostee, New Mexico, has continued to serve in both her positions as late as Sunday in spite of a complaint filed against her by the Department of Diné Education for allegedly failing to disclose two alcohol-related offenses on her candidacy application.

Aaron Curley, a resident of Shiprock, was sentenced Tuesday to 24 months in federal prison for stabbing his wife during an argument and only stopping when his 19-year-old son overpowered him.

Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies and Search and Rescue Unit conducted two search and rescue missions on the San Francisco Peaks on Oct. 11, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Navajo Nation Police, along with McKinley County Sheriff’s deputies and New Mexico State Police, helped apprehend a woman who was in Tohatchi, New Mexico, threatening people with a gun about midnight on Oct. 8.

A six-month-old Bluffdale, Utah, boy died Monday of injuries suffered in a boating accident on Lake Powell the previous evening.
