Court challenge targets Descheenie’s place on the ballot in Congressional District 2

Eric Descheenie’s campaign for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District is facing an early court fight after a legal challenge was filed against his nomination petition signatures.

The Arizona Secretary of State’s candidate legal challenges page shows that Beverly Berg filed Berg v. Descheenie on April 6 in the Maricopa County Superior Court. As of the state’s current public listing, no outcome had been posted. Arizona law allows nomination challenges, and the secretary of state says county recorders review disputed signatures.
