Harrison Yazzie
WINDOW ROCK — Funeral service for Harrison Yazzie, 65, of Pine Springs, Arizona, will be held Friday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. at the Window Rock Christian Reformed Church with Sonny Harjo officiating.
Harrison was born Dec. 29, 1953, in Fort Defiance, into the Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan), born for Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). He passed away Oct. 29, 2018, in Flagstaff.
Harrison graduated from Valley High School in Sanders, Arizona, and attended the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 640 Apprenticeship Trade School in Phoenix. He was employed with IBEW 640 for 35 years.
Harrison enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. Harrison is survived by his spouse, Denise Williams Yazzie; sons, Westley Davis Yazzie, Harris “Colby” Yazzie, Tye Browne, and Farin Begay; daughter, Delilah Browne Yazzie; brothers, Paul Yazzie of Page, Arizona, Peterson Yazzie of Mesa, Arizona, and Rodger Frank of St. Johns, Arizona; sisters, Elizabeth Ashley of Sanders, Arizona, Cecelia Benally of Flagstaff, Helen Aseret of Sanders, and Alice Yellowhair of Chinle; and 10 grandchildren. Harrison is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Yazzie; father, Steven Yazzie; and grandparents, Mary and John Six. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be family members.
A reception will take place at the Fort Defiance Chapter House, following service. Cope Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Larry A. Jones
GALLUP — Funeral services for Larry A. Jones, 70, of Mentmore, New Mexico, will be held today, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel in Gallup, with Pastor Ted Farris officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gallup.
Larry was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Rocky Point, New Mexico, into the Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan), born for Tl’ógí (Hairy Ones/Weaver-Zia Clan). His nali is Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water); chei is Tábaahá (Water’s Edge). He passed away Oct. 29, 2018, in Albuquerque. Larry attended Wingate schools and Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon, graduating from Intermountain Indian School in 1970. He attended Vo-Tech School for auto body in Lakewood, Colorado, graduating from Haskell Indian Junior College. Larry worked for Gurley Motors Body Shop and finished by being labor/maintenance for his community where he retired at his home in Mentmore.
Larry is survived by his son, Robert “Ziggy” Jones; daughters, Yolanda Jones and Kathleen Jones; mother, Elizabeth Tom; stepfather, George E. Tom; brothers, Henry Haley, Joseph Haley, and Dan Jones; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Edward Haley, Valentino Haley, Jayson Haley, Shaler Max, and Alvin Lee. Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Jennifer Haley
GALLUP — A memorial service for Jennifer Haley, 52, will be held Friday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. at the Rollie Mortuary Chapel in Gallup. Burial will follow at the Gallup City Cemetery.
Jennifer was born Feb. 5, 1966, in McKinley County, New Mexico, into the Tsi’naajinii (Black Streak Wood People Clan), born for Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). Her nali is Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water); chei is Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People). She passed away Oct. 20, 2018, in Albuquerque.
Jennifer received her high school diploma in 1986 in Gallup, and was a self-employed artist. She served 10 years as chairman of AA Serenity House in Gallup, serving as chairperson of the AA group, Wings of the Storm. She was well respected and looked up to by the AA community. Jennifer enjoyed calligraphy, making unique greeting cards, and signing her work with her own trademark “Jenn Mark.” She made friends wherever she went, spreading her contagious smile.
Jennifer is survived by her son, Steven Thomas Haley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Danielle Haley of Colorado Springs; mother, Bessie David; father, Tom David; sisters, Linda Frank-Supka, Geneva Frank-Yellowhair, Roberta David, Anita Benally, Genevieve Edwards, and Bertha Davis; and grandchildren, Nellie Rae Skeets and Isaiah Christopher Haley. Jennifer is preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Mark and Clinton Frank; and grandmother, Bah Hoskie.

Danny Begay
GALLUP — Funeral mass for Danny Begay, 73, was held Oct. 30 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Gallup. Interment followed at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Gallup.
Danny was born Sept. 18, 1945, in Crownpoint. He passed away Oct. 24, 2018, in Church Rock, New Mexico.
Danny graduated from Gallup High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as sergeant in Vietnam and worked as an aviation structural mechanic. Danny is survived by his daughters, Michelle Frank, Naiwah Standing Bear, Danielle Begay, and Martha Begay; and sons, Brannon Begay and Onan Begay.
Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Martha C. Begay; mother, Martha Begay; and sons, James Pioche Jr. and Marty Begay. Pallbearers were Jase Tsosie, Jaden Tsosie, D.J. Frank, Thedeous Tah, Trevious Tah, and Onan Begay.
Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
