FARMINGTON

Tough.

That was one way to describe the 4th annual Navajo Preparatory School Gridiron Elite Football Camp held June 17-20.

The camp that was open to students grades 6-12, started with a total of 82 campers but finished with 71, as many campers left after realizing how tough the camp was.

Gridiron Elite Football Camp coordinator and instructor and Navajo Prep head football coach said the intensity of camp is what he and his coaching and instructing staff were going for.

“That’s what we want,” he said. “At the beginning we told the parents that our camp was a little bit different than other camps. We work them hard and they’re going to be busy.”

Participants had at least two practices a day with breakout football skill sessions and life skills sessions that included: resume writing, anti-bullying sessions and team building practices among others.
