Zuni Pueblo runner Kameron Eustace keeps his pace during the 10K race at the 46th Annual Narbona Pass Classic on Sunday morning. Eustace captured his third consecutive crown by clocking in at 37:32.68.
Eustace netted his third straight men’s crown on the Chuska Mountain with a 37:32.68 effort while Upshaw beat the women’s course record by 12 seconds with a winning time of 40:38.09.
“This race is so hard, and I’m really happy with what I did,” Upshaw said. “I had the record in mind, but I didn’t think I was going to get it this year. It was a big surprise that I was within range.”
The NAU graduate student got the record by chasing four male runners ahead of her with Eustace leading the way.
