Making the state playoffs has become an annual tradition for the Gallup volleyball team.

A spirited Santa Fe Indian School squad is playing with a purpose. The youthful Lady Braves (16-11) won a pair of elimination games at the Rio Rancho Events Center on Friday to advance into Saturday’s round at the New Mexico Class 3A State Volleyball Playoffs.

The fourth-seeded Monument Valley Mustangs went the distance with Benjamin Franklin in the opening round of the Arizona 3A state volleyball playoffs.

Aggressive serving and playing smart volleyball were keys for the Window Rock Lady Scouts on Tuesday night.

The Lady Scouts was awarded the No. 16 seed by the Arizona Interscholastic Association on Saturday as they will host No. 17 Empire in a Play-In game Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the Bee Hółdzil Events Center in Fort Defiance.
