The Navajo Film Office announced on Tuesday that the “Dark Winds” mystery thriller that will be filming on Navajo is hiring local talent to work as background actors.

Diné artist, flute maker and competitive skateboarder Di’Orr Greenwood says all of her skateboard designs are done freehand and contain traditional teachings and symbols, including the four directions, four sacred mountains, four seasons and the four elements.

Last week, the New Mexico Film Office announced that a new television show, “Dark Winds,” produced by AMC Networks and Dark Winds Productions LLC, has begun production in Santa Fe.

The 32nd Annual Totah Festival was one of many events that did not take place last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
