I am so pleased to see the many Navajo women march at Council in Window Rock to address their concerns. The missing indigenous and murdered women is real on Navajo Nation. The abduction of kids and women on Navajo is real. The abuse of Navajo women is real.

We teach our children to make a stand about fair and just treatment. We, as adults, need to set the example of treating one another fairly.

She was an unfamiliar face, a Democrat at the time, running for the congressional Senate seat from Arizona, asking for our support and would like to add some reasons why a comment must be made about an article written on her last week in the Navajo Times (“Protestors confront Sinema, she calls the move ‘unacceptable’”).

Challenges include the health of our people through the pandemic and the diminishing levels of current Diné speakers. This language challenge is amplified by the infiltration of Navajo society by external films, foreign video games, and non-Diné social media that is unchecked and seamlessly beamed across reservation borders and onto our children’s phones.

I am a proud member of the largest land retained by the Native American tribe in the United States with a valid census number. I am writing to you in order to raise the issue of the Fiscal Recovery Fund, as well as the American Rescue Plan Act.
