Chef had history of harassment, former co-worker says

CHINLE

A former co-worker of Franco Lee’s at Fire Rock Casino says she was not surprised to read that the Diné College chef was being sued for sexual harassment.

The former employee, who declined to give her name for fear of jeopardizing her present employment, said that while Lee was employed at Fire Rock, she was constantly filing complaints against him with the company’s human resources department, and the company was investigating him at the time he stopped coming to work in 2010.

“I don’t know if they let him go for that,” she said.

The woman said when she read newspaper stories about the present lawsuit against Lee, filed by a former employee of his at Diné College, her first thought was, “Again?”

She said she confronted Lee multiple times at Fire Rock for inappropriately touching the younger employees.

“When they passed, he would poke them or slap them on the behind,” she recalled. “He has no respect for the females.”

One time, she said, he threw water at a server’s chest to make her blouse stick to her breast.

“I told him, ‘You’re a sick man,’” she recalled. “He said something and walked away from me.”

The employee said she started writing up a complaint against Lee every time she saw something inappropriate, and sent it to the company’s human resources department.
