Nevaeh “Shi Jeh” Harrison, who has Down syndrome, will have her photo shown Sept. 12 on a Times Square screen to promote awareness.

Harrison is Hashtł’ishnii and born for Tó’áhání. Her maternal grandfather is Bit’ahnii and her paternal grandfather is Kinyaa’áanii.

Harrison’s mother, Lourdes Long Armijo, submitted her daughter’s photo to the National Down Syndrome Society a few months ago.

“Nevaeh was chosen,” Armijo said, adding that 500 people were selected for the video presentation.

The hourlong presentation is scheduled from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Eastern at Father Duffy Square and will open the 2026 New York City Buddy Walk.

The photo shows Harrison seated on a Pendleton blanket in front of a hogan with Monument Valley in the background.
