Delphine A. Segodi
FORT DEFIANCE – Funeral services for Delphine Ann Segodi, 69, of Sawmill, Arizona, will be held today, July 30, at 10 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Mission in Fort Defiance, with Rev. Leon Sampson officiating. Burial will follow at the family burial plot in Sawmill. Viewing will take place one hour before the service at 9 a.m.
Delphine Ann Segodi, Feb. 24, 1957 to July 24, 2026
Delphine was born Feb. 24, 1957, in Fort Defiance, into the Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge Clan), born for Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan). Her nálí is Bįįh Bitoodnii (Deer Spring); cheii is Bit’ahnii (Under His Cover). She passed away July 24, 2026, in Phoenix.
Delphine received a master’s degree in social work and was employed with the Navajo Nation until retirement. She enjoyed sewing, taking care of her animals and telling stories about her adventures.
Delphine is survived by her son, Nicholas Segodi; daughter, Marnia Segodi; brother, Wilbert Segodi; sister, Doris Segodi; and granddaughter, Erika McKinley.
Delphine is preceded in death by her parents, Madge and Marshal Segodi; Diane Kanuho, Donald Segodi, Dinah Yazza, Ronald Segodi and Wally Segodi.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Kanuho, Anthony Kanuho, Sheldon Segodi, Ryan Kanuho, Malcolm Yazza and Donovan Segodi.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wilbert Segodi, Nicholas Segodi and Jon Kanuho.
A reception will take place at the Segodi residence in Sawmill, following services.

Jason Owens
ALBUQUERQUE – Funeral services for Jason Owens, 46, of Tohatchi, New Mexico, will be held in Albuquerque. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Jason Owens, June 1980 to July 25, 2026
Jason was born in June 1980 in Gallup, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Honágháahnii (One-walks-around Clan). He passed away July 25, 2026.
Jason retired from the Army after 13 years with the rank of sergeant.
Jason is survived by his mother, Bernice Owens; and siblings, Marlene Owens, Jonathan Owens and John Owens.
Jason is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lee Owens; and maternal grandmother, Hilda Foster.
French Funerals and Cremations oversaw arrangements.
Cheryl R. Anderson
ST. MICHAELS, Ariz. – Funeral services for Cheryl Reah Anderson, 61, of Fort Defiance, were held July 28 at the St. Michaels Catholic Church in St. Michaels, Arizona, with Father Pio O’Connor officiating. Interment followed in Fort Defiance.
Cheryl was born April 1, 1965, in Oakland, California, into the Mą’ii Deeshgiizhnii (Coyote Pass-Jemez Clan), born for Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan). Her nálí is Tsénahabiłnii (Sleep Rock People); cheii is Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House). She passed away July 20, 2026, in Window Rock.
Cheryl attended Window Rock High School and enjoyed making arts and crafts, beading and crocheting.
Cheryl is survived by her sons, Kyle N. Anderson and Jerald P. Anderson; mother, Ruby J. Anderson; and brothers, William E. Anderson and Paul A. Anderson.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Edward N. Anderson; brothers, Charles C. Anderson and Patrick N. Anderson; and grandparents, Anson C. Damon, Lettie T. Damon, Eddie B. Anderson, and Elsie W. Anderson.
Pallbearers were Mark Damon, Paul A. Anderson, Benjamin Ahasteen, Thomas Damon, Winchell Tso, and Frankie Begay.
Honorary pallbearers were Stuart Damon, Duane Hanley, Kyle N. Anderson, Jerald P. Anderson, Mathew Varela, William E. Anderson, Ron Harris and Tokaha Marshall.
